Russell McVeagh partner to serve on overseas investment advisory group
Partner Garth Sinclair has been appointed an advisor to a Government-initiated review of the Overseas Investment Act.
The advisory group will assist with the review of New Zealand's overseas investment rules, which has the objective of attracting more foreign investment to New Zealand, while protecting sensitive land, assets and resources.
Garth is a highly regarded corporate practitioner who specialises in investment in New Zealand, mergers and acquisitions (including listed takeovers, trade sales and negotiated acquisitions), private equity, joint ventures (international and domestic) and infrastructure projects.
In announcing the review, Finance Minister Bill English said it was intended to make the approval process quicker and less complex. The review is expected to be complete mid-year.
