We have ALB's New Zealand Dealmaker of the Year for 2010, 2009 and 2008. We are the International Financial Law Review's New Zealand Law Firm of the Year 2009.
  • We are great employers too. We have been voted New Zealand Legal Employer of Choice for three years running in surveys conducted by ALB magazine, and we are consistently voted top legal graduate employer in the Australia and New Zealand Graduate Careers Survey.

Global Competition Review's GCR 100 has confirmed that Russell McVeagh's competition team has retained Elite status in competition law in New Zealand.  The London based research house undertakes a comprehensive annual evaluation to assess the work undertaken by specialist lawyers worldwide.  Russell McVeagh's practice, which is led by partners Andrew Peterson and Sarah Keene, has been ranked as Elite (the very top category) for several years in the Global Top 100 Competition practices.

The variety of work undertaken by the team was commented on by the publication which also noted that the team has been at the forefront of proposals to criminalise cartel offences in New Zealand: it submitted responses to the discussion papers and it held the only forum for clients following the release of draft legislation.
