Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Geoff was a partner at another New Zealand law firm, and has practised as a major projects/project finance lawyer in the UK (with Clifford Chance in London) and Australia (with Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Sydney).
- Acting for ANZ National Bank, BNZ and Westpac as joint lead arrangers, and HSBC as co-arranger, of the NZ$600 million financing of the acquisition by an Infratil/Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation consortium of Shell's downstream New Zealand assets.
- Acting for BNZ and Westpac on a NZ$254.62 million construction and term financing of the Britomart precinct in Auckland.
- Acting for Equity Partners Infrastructure Company No 1 on the acquisition financing and refinancing of its indirect interests in Thames Water, Moto, Wales & West Utilities and Arqiva.
- Acting for Next Capital on syndicated senior and mezzanine financings of its acquisitions of Hirepool, Healtheries and Nutra-Life.
- Acting for ANZ National Bank on a syndicated financing of EBOS Group.
- Acting for Goodman Property Trust on its bank debt facilities and on security structuring in connection with a senior secured bond issue.
- Acting for a syndicate of banks bidding to finance an LBO of The Warehouse.
- Acting for JPMorgan as arranger of a syndicated financing of Telecom New Zealand.
- Acting for the banks on the financing (and refinancing) of the Transfield/Campus Living-sponsored Canterbury University Student Accommodation PPP project.
- Acting for Mighty River Power as sponsor on all commercial and financing aspects of the Mokai II geothermal power project.
- Acting for the arranging banks on the A$580 million senior debt financing of the East/West Cross City Tunnel toll road project in Sydney.
- Acting for the arranging banks on the A$1 billion senior debt financing of AMC’s Stanwell magnesium project in Queensland.
- Advising a sponsor consortium led by London Electricity on all aspects of its bid for the London Underground Power PFI project.
- Advising a bank and an ECA on an ECA-guaranteed syndicated export financing of the acquisition of a vessel.
- Acting for Westpac as lessor on the sale and finance leaseback construction financing of a storage facility.
- Acting for PricewaterhouseCoopers as receivers of Capital + Merchant Business Investments Limited.
- Advising HBOS on New Zealand aspects of its exposure to Allco HIT.
- Acting for the issuer in respect of an AMTN programme.
- Acting for a NZ registered bank in redrafting its consumer and property finance documents to comply with the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003.
