Garth provides ongoing corporate and commercial advice to a range of clients including major New Zealand companies, multinationals with businesses in New Zealand, companies looking to invest in New Zealand and private equity firms. In addition to his New Zealand experience, Garth has acted on a number of major acquisitions and transactions while working in the mergers and acquisitions team at Slaughter and May in London.

• Acting for CHAMP Private Equity in relation to its acquisition of Blue Star Print Group Limited.
• Acting for CVC Asia Pacific Limited in relation to its acquisition of Stella Group.
• Acting for Fonterra in relation to its A$1.5bn takeover offer for National Foods.
• Acting for Fonterra in the $1.2bn restructuring of its consumer dairy business in New Zealand including the sale and purchase of significant consumer dairy assets to/from New Zealand Dairy Foods Limited.
• Acting for Fonterra in relation to the sale of its majority shareholding in New Zealand Dairy Foods through a listed takeover.
• Acting for the independent directors of Carter Holt Harvey Limited in relation to the sale by CHH's majority shareholder, International Paper, of its 51% stake in the company through a listed takeover.
• Acting for Carter Holt Harvey Limited in its acquisition of the structural wood processing business from Tenon Limited.
• Advising Vector Limited in relation to its listing on the NZSX.
• Acting for Vector Limited in relation to its construction of a 10km 220kv electricity transmission tunnel from Penrose to Auckland CBD.
• Acting for Watercare in relation to the $450m upgrade of its Manukau wastewater treatment plant and related pond decommissioning.
