David is a commercial property law expert. His practice focuses on advising private and public sector clients on acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, developments and commercial, industrial and retail leasing.

David has particular experience acting on major development projects, advising on sale and leaseback transactions and other types of structured disposals. He also regularly advises on the property aspects of Australasian transactions.
Some recent examples of David's experience include: advising on the purchase of a prominent Wellington office tower; advising a local authority on a town centre regeneration project; advising on the purchase of part of the NZ Post portfolio; acting for a major UK financial institution on the development and leasing of its new London HQ; acting for a German property fund on the purchase of two City of London office towers; and advising a major NZ corporate in relation to the management of its NZ property portfolio.
David joined Russell McVeagh as a graduate in 2000. He then joined the Real Estate team at Clifford Chance in London in 2004 before rejoining Russell McVeagh in early 2009.
